Prior to kick off most rugby fans would’ve gambled on an Ulster win, albeit that Zebre have beaten 2 of the Irish provinces so far but you did feel with Ulsters upward trajectory and Zebres record that this was a slamdunk for the Ulstermen. However a really poor performance, almost inexplicable, saw the men in white lose by a point and the fans were quick to react.

-‘Dear Ulsters Jobs for the Boys directors and coaching team.

Im going to keep this simple.

1. Never ever play Nathan Doak until he can at least play at A standard.

2. Hand Jonny Bell a P45.

Many Thanks from every Ulster supporter.’

-‘1. Congrats to the fans that turned up.

2. What a wonderful display of energy, physicality and skill from Zebre, congratulations, deserved winners. Really hope the rumours of the club’s demise are not true.

3. The Ulster players turned up (like Methody’s future “leaders”, in the week that was in it), entitled, disinterested, 5 points nailed on by just running onto the pitch.

4. Cooney has been a great signing, a crowd favourite. This evening he was awful, has to be said, makes no sense, his 150th cap, he has the experience, go figure!

5. Treadwell has mentally moved to the Stoop.

6. Safe home Zebre, enjoy your evening.’

-‘Well at least Ulster are consistent. Consistently bad, albeit. Losing at home to a Zebre team shorn of its Italian internationals?

Can anyone shed some light on how a once strong province (perhaps the strongest) has declined so much, when two hours down the road, things are going from strength to strength?

Is there no academy in Belfast to bring younger, talented players through? Are not enough boys playing the game?’

-‘Was not worth getting the soaking for, place was half empty and if it wasn’t for having the season ticket I might’ve stayed home myself

😳

the boys put no effort into that game what so ever I think they thought they’d just glide through with a win because it was Zebre how wrong were they. They certainly did not earn their pay today.

-‘I’ll give the team their full backing against the likes of Toulouse and Bordeaux but I don’t want to hear any crap from anyone under this other than it’s a complete embarrassment! May aswell ring Bordeaux and tell them it’s off for that has 70+ written all over it,’

-‘Ulster show no passion look at the way they tackle grabbing T-shirts and you look at Leinster yesterday players throwing themselves at the opposition legs and making good tackles naw Ulster to much work to do that.’

-‘They had great backs and moves just 2 or 3 years ago – gone. Had a rolling maul 2 years ago – gone.

Backs remind me of basic schools rugby or old 3rd and 4ths just passing out the backs. No moves or thought process at all. Desperately poor attacking coaching , it just goes on. A load of super individual players but team policy is dreadful.’

-‘What can you say about that???especially on a Sunday without swearing!!!My God how poor was that???It takes a supreme effort to make Zebre look good away from home……but we managed magnificently!!!At least we won the 2nd half 14-12!!!Absolutely a new low with Ulster rugby!!!Sorry can’t find a good thing to say about that match……wait!!! It stopped raining eventually!!!

-‘That was a shocking performance and serves as a reminder of how inexperienced our team is. Ulster better get used to all those empty seats at Ravenhill if they keep serving up this rubbish. With the 6 nations coming up this was a real chance for our players to show they should be included in the Irish squad, the truth is we are miles off it. Such a disappointing result.’

-‘Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse from Ulster – it just did. Can excuse mistakes on the pitch & even some poor decision making. However, not playing with any pride in the jersey or real effort is much harder to overlook. Standing in the terraces tonight watching a new low for Ulster Rugby.
